Kahoot! Denmark ApS (“Actimo”) is now utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) in its service and this document describes how we safely use AI to support our educators and learners.
AI-supported features and their availability in Actimo
Actimo offers the following AI-assisted features. All AI features are optional, and an organization can decide to limit access to the AI features for all admins, editors and users.
The AI Text Enhancer allows admins and editors to reduce the time spent on creating messages to the learners, and to easily adjust and improve the format of the message. With the AI Text Enhancer, admins and editors can
To provide the AI Text Enhancer, Actimo sends your textual content temporarily to the Azure OpenAI service to be able to suggest changes in the tone of voice, summarize or extend, or translate the text.
Maia is an in-app conversational assistant that helps your end users find information and get answers to their questions directly within the Actimo app. End users can type questions in natural language and receive helpful, conversational responses.
To provide Maia, Actimo sends the relevant conversational input temporarily to AWS Bedrock for processing.
This feature helps admins and editors generate complete draft messages. You can create a message by describing it in a text prompt (for example, “a weekly company update about Q2 results”), or by uploading a source document (such as a PDF) for the AI to summarize and structure. The AI generates a structured draft — including text, headings, and suggested layout — that you can review, edit, and refine before publishing.
To provide this feature, Actimo sends your prompt and/or uploaded source content temporarily to AWS Bedrock for processing.
Actimo uses public AI-models from third party vendors and does not build its own models. No data from the Actimo platform is used to train or refine any models. This is a contractual requirement across all of Actimo’s AI vendor relationships.
Actimo integrates with its AI providers through our backend to avoid unknown information from the browser or client being sent to the providers.
Data inserted into an AI feature is sent to the relevant provider for processing and to generate AI output. The information Actimo sends to the providers’ APIs is what we call the prompt. Actimo does not knowingly provide any user information, personal data or previous prompts to these providers in providing its AI features and advises users against providing the same.
The AI providers Actimo uses, by feature, are:
| Feature | AI provider / hosting |
|---|---|
| AI Text Enhancer | Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service (based in Europe) |
| AI Chat Agent (Maia) | AWS Bedrock |
| Create Message with AI | AWS Bedrock |
Actimo’s partner and LLM provider for the AI Text Enhancer is Microsoft Azure based in Europe. Actimo has integrated with Microsoft through our backend to avoid unknown information from the browser or client being sent to Microsoft.
The processing of information sent by Actimo to Microsoft is performed according to Microsoft’s standard terms and conditions, which may be found here.
Microsoft describes how it processes, uses and stores the data it receives here.
In order to ensure high quality content on our platform, Actimo has elected not to opt out of Azure OpenAI Abuse Monitoring. More info on how Microsoft performs abuse monitoring can be found here.
Data sent to the Azure OpenAI Service is processed in accordance with Microsoft’s applicable terms as linked above.
The Azure OpenAI Service we use for the AI Text Enhancer is fully controlled by Microsoft; Microsoft hosts the OpenAI models in Microsoft’s Azure environment and the Service does NOT interact with any services operated by OpenAI (e.g. ChatGPT, or the OpenAI API).
Actimo’s LLM provider for the AI Chat Agent (Maia) and the Create Message with AI features is AWS Bedrock and based in Europe. Actimo integrates with AWS through our backend to avoid unknown information from the browser or client being sent to AWS.
The processing of information sent by Actimo to AWS is performed according to AWS’s service terms, which may be found here: AWS Service Terms
AWS describes how it processes, uses and stores data submitted to Amazon Bedrock here: Data protection – Amazon Bedrock
To the extent we make beta versions of functions and features available to users of the Actimo platform, such beta features can change or evolve at any time. You may experience bugs or performance issues while using such features. Actimo reserves the right to cap or disable beta feature usage at any time, including due to high demand.
Actimo has assessed its AI features against the classification framework set out in the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689). Based on this assessment, Actimo does not operate any high-risk AI systems. The intended purpose of Actimo’s AI features is to assist admins and editors in content creation, message drafting, and translation for workplace communications, and to help end users find information and get answers within the platform. They are productivity tools and are not intended for any of the high-risk use cases identified in Annex III of the EU AI Act. All AI-generated content in Actimo is subject to human review: admins and editors review, edit, and approve messages before they are published to end users.
Actimo will continue to monitor regulatory developments and will review its assessment as its products and the regulatory framework evolve.
While AI text-generation services can save you a lot of time, they sometimes provide inaccurate or untrue content (output). Please carefully review any AI-generated content for accuracy before using it.

Key technical information related to the features:
AI Text Enhancer
The model currently used is “GPT 4 turbo”, but we may choose to use other GPT models, for example subsequent versions. The prompt permits a user to send the content in a text block for better enhancement and translations. The information processed by Microsoft is the text entered by the user.
AI Chat Agent (Maia)
The model(s) currently used are provided through AWS Bedrock Haiku 4.5. The information processed is the conversational input the user enters in the chat, together with relevant context required to answer the question. We may choose to use other models, for example subsequent versions.
Create Message with AI
The model(s) currently used are provided through AWS Bedrock Haiku 4.5. The information processed is the user’s text prompt and/or the content of any uploaded source document, used to generate a draft message. We may choose to use other models, for example subsequent versions.
